The St. Isidore Solar Project Phase 1 was one of the first large scale solar projects in Ontario. The project involved the installation of over 14,000 small diameter piles to support the racking and panels. The foundations work included the design verification, installation, cutting, capping and proof testing of piles.
The client needed an efficient, low impact, fast installation, enabling completion of a large volume of piles in a short period of time.
The contractor required proven foundation experience and a design team that could provide guidance and support.
HPS provided an optimized design including reduction in the pile length and diameter, reducing the equipment required for installation.
HPS successfully delivered the foundation installation and testing program as well as an accelerated schedule. The installation of 14,000 piles was completed between August 2010 and October 2010, on time and within budget.
