Alex Budzinski

CEO

Over 15 years of experience in utility construction, with a specialty in deep foundation construction.  This experience includes leading major projects from bid and design through to execution and closeout.  During his tenure at the Valard Group of Companies, he held roles including Construction Manager and Project Manger, being responsible for major subcontractors, crews, and client interface.  He was responsible for electrical, structural and civil scopes for over 10 projects as well as 3 major projects, including Eastern Alberta Transmission Line, Fort McMurray West 500kV and Muskrat Falls AC and DC Transmission Lines.  Alex transitioned from his site roles into the office as the Lead Estimator – Transmission, where he rounded out his experience to include budgeting and execution planning for cost, schedule and quality to ensure successful future project execution.  At HPS, Alex is responsible for establishing vision and culture while directing day-to-day company execution.

Sean Morris

President

Over 15 years of operations and leadership experience in the drilled shaft industry.  Having been involved with Sharp’s Construction from a young age, Sean transitioned to lead estimator and operations manager at Northstar Sharp’s, and eventually to operations manager of the Drilled Shaft division for Valard Foundations. Sean’s career focuses on the oversight of estimating, management and installation of drilled shafts, vibratory piles, sheet piles, and secant foundations from coast to coast—with hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of concrete poured and steel set in almost every province in Canada.

Red Schuhmann

VP of Sales and Procurement

Over 30 year veteran of the helical & driven piling markets. Red began his piling career as a swamper at Peace Land Power and Piling in Fort St. John, BC. Through hard work and a deep understanding of the industry, Red worked his way up to General Manager. From estimating to manufacturing all the way to successful construction completion, Red has overseen the installation of tens of thousands of piles during his tenure as General Manager for the past 20 years. At HPS, Red is responsible for collaboration between engineering, procurement, and construction teams to provide clients with cost effective designs and products with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Alkailani Omer PhD, P.Eng, PMP

Engineering & QAQC Manager

Industry leading professional with over 20 years experience in the Helical Pile and Drilled Shaft Industry. Alkailani carries professional engineering designations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Yukon in Canada and carries a PE in the United States. As a subject matter expert in his field, Alkailani continues to author technical papers on deep foundation construction focusing on Helical Pile Testing as well as Helical and Driven Pile Applications in Green Energy Projects all while continuing to act as a peer reviewer for technical papers written in North America by his industry peers. At HPS, Alkailani is responsible for design and technical analysis and works actively to optimize client designs for manufacturing and construction.
